1. Choose a focused endpoint

Use the server for the job your AI needs to do. All endpoints use Streamable HTTP; these are remote servers, not npm packages to run locally. Start with Search Console + Bing for your own sites, URL Indexing after publishing, or SEO MCP for a general research connection. Focused servers reduce the number of tools a client needs to load.
https://docs.crakseo.com/mcp searches documentation. It is not a product endpoint. SEO tools live at https://crakseo.com/mcp/<server>.

2. Add it to your client

Follow the client-specific setup for OAuth support, configuration shape and secret storage:

Claude Code

ChatGPT

Cursor

Codex

VS Code and Copilot

Cline

Gemini CLI

Grok

Muse

For example, in Claude Code:
A custom connection works independently of marketplace approval. Client plan requirements and support for custom connectors may differ.

3. Authenticate

OAuth: add the URL without a key, open your client’s MCP authentication flow and sign in to CrakSEO. Review the scopes before authorizing. API key: create a scoped key in Settings > API keys. Clients that support request headers can send Authorization: Bearer YOUR_CRAKSEO_API_KEY. Use the client’s secret storage or an environment variable; never commit a key. An API key or OAuth connection authenticates you to CrakSEO. It does not connect a Google or Bing property or authorize paid indexing spend.

4. Verify a free call first

For an SEO data server, ask your assistant:
This tool is available on the eight SEO data servers and is free. A successful tool response verifies authentication and tool execution without a supplier purchase. Read the response rather than assuming a nonzero balance or that data calls are enabled. For Search Console, call list_search_console_properties instead. If it returns not_connected, follow the connection link, sign in with the property owner and retry. No property access is granted just by installing the MCP server. For URL Indexing, call get_indexing_account to inspect the account without submitting URLs or approving spend.

5. Run the job with the right approval

  • Research: inspect the tool parameters on the focused reference page. Check current pricing and ask permission before a paid call.
  • Free indexing: use the free routes documented on URL Indexing MCP. Successful submission does not guarantee search-engine inclusion.
  • Paid indexing: call quote_indexing_submission, show the quote, and send the owner to the returned confirmation URL. Retry with the same quoteId and idempotencyKey after approval. The agent must not approve its own spend.
Examples in the reference are illustrative JSON, not evidence of actual rankings, volumes or successful submissions.
