# Next.js blog package

> Add a CrakSEO-powered blog to a Next.js site.

The `@fpl/next-blog` package adds a blog to an existing Next.js App Router site. Articles are pulled from the [read API](https://docs.crakseo.com/product/seo-toolkit/cms-publishing.md#pull-api-and-feeds); nothing is pushed to your repo.

```bash theme={null}
npm install @fpl/next-blog
npx @fpl/next-blog init
```

`init` writes into `app/blog` or `src/app/blog` and never overwrites an existing file unless you pass `--force`:

| Route | File |
| - | - |
| `/blog` | `blog/page.tsx` |
| `/blog/[slug]` | `blog/[slug]/page.tsx` |
| `/blog/tag/[slug]` | `blog/tag/[slug]/page.tsx` |
| `/blog/sitemap.xml` | `blog/sitemap.ts` |
| Revalidate hook | `api/babylovegrowth/revalidate/route.ts` |

In code, use `createClient` to fetch articles and `indexNowResponse` to serve your IndexNow key.

## Environment

| Variable | Purpose |
| - | - |
| `BABYLOVEGROWTH_BLOG_API_KEY` | Server-only project API key from **Settings > Website publishing** |
| `BABYLOVEGROWTH_BLOG_API_URL` | API origin, `https://crakseo.com` (installs that still point at `https://frontpagelabs.co` keep working) |
| `NEXT_PUBLIC_SITE_URL` | Your site's public URL |
| `BABYLOVEGROWTH_REVALIDATE_SECRET` | Optional; lets CrakSEO refresh a post immediately |
| `BABYLOVEGROWTH_INDEXNOW_KEY` | Optional IndexNow key |

The package name and variable names keep their original prefixes so existing installs keep working.
